Dear Believer Series – Episode 1

Dear Believer,

Don’t seek guidance when the Bible has already told you what to do.

Today’s title comes from Brother Hagin’s Faith Food Devotional. It’s amazing how many believers yield to the flesh instead of the Word of God and the Spirit — and then go to spiritual leaders, asking them to bless decisions that are clearly out of line with God’s Word. If we’re not willing to obey the instructions in Scripture, we are not ready to be led by the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit will never guide us in a way that conflicts with the written Word.

Psalm 119:105 tells us, “God’s Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path.” This means God guides us through His Word. Jesus is called both the Word and the Light of the world. Our guidance, our light, our direction — all come through the Word.

The reason many Christians are confused and feel as though they are walking in darkness is simple: they refuse to obey God’s Word. They’re coasting through life without actually practicing the instructions in Scripture.

Consider this: you pray about marrying someone, yet that person is not a believer and wants nothing to do with God, His Christ, or His Church. The very fact that you’re praying about it shows either you don’t know the Scriptures or you think God will break His own Word for your sake. But the Bible clearly says, “Do not be partners with those who do not believe” (2 Cor. 6:14 NET). If you come out of prayer and claim God told you to marry that person, you’re lying to yourself. God will not contradict His Word.

Dear believer, let God’s Word be your daily guide — in every decision, every step, every relationship.
